When this book was described as Gone Girl meets Girl on A Train (which I now realize has been used to describe way too many books) I was in. I liked The Widow. Fiona Barton leaves clues and gives you a solid story. I cared about the main characters and wanted to know what happened to them next. The story isn’t as memorable as others and isn’t as deep but I liked it enough to buy her second book, The Child, which was published this month. The Widow is a suspenseful mystery that isn’t totally surprising but leaves you guessing. Review of The Child coming soon!
Best Drink Pairing: Black Widow Cocktail. Because those spiders are giving widows a bad name that they don’t deserve…or do they?
