The Arrangement is written by the creator of American Housewife, one of my favorite shows on television right now. It should come as no surprise then that this novel is as light and enjoyable and ridiculously satisfying as a sitcom.
I personally think Sarah Dunn’s writing contains some of the best dialogue I’ve ever read, and I guess it doesn’t hurt that the subject matter (a suburban couple who experiment in open marriage) is so potentially scandalous.
Warning: this book will cause intolerable conversations among otherwise sensible people, conversations best held in hushed voices while sipping wine. In other words, this is a perfect summer book club pick.
Best paired with Hudson Whiskey's White Manhattan.
